Possible Answers
1. The unknown hero who saved the train from an ambush was Jugga Singh. As a budmash, I believe he wanted to redeem himself due to all the criticism and hate he has been receiving from the villagers ever since the landlord was murdered. Another reason why I think Jugga was the unknown hero is because his Muslim lover, Nooran, was most likely on the train.
