Meet Singh: The Town Intellectual 

Meet Singh is the first character that Iqbal interacts with in the book. He is the bhai, or manager, of the local Sikh temple. When Iqbal asks to stay at the temple, Singh welcomes the newcomer to the temple and immediately sets him a place to stay. Meet Singh is often a very wise character and also a very hospitable one in the book. Many characters rely on him for wisdom and knowledge.
